Jon Gold has been the Chief Executive Officer of TradeWinds Services, Inc. for 16 years. During this time, the agency has experienced growth in service while continuing to provide quality programs. This is Jon’s second tour of duty at TradeWinds. He was the Chief Financial Officer for 10 years prior to opening his own Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm in Portage.
Jon attended Indiana University as well as Valparaiso University and has a BS in Business Administration. Jon has a secondary teaching license in business, which allows him the opportunity to teach high school business classes. He is a member of Pirates, Inc.
Lisa Tatina is Director of Development & Marketing at TradeWinds. Lisa joined the TradeWinds team in May of 2016 after a 31- year career in sales and marketing for newspapers. Lisa also has many years of experience in non-profits; serving on many boards in Northwest Indiana over the last 20 years.
Lisa was on the TradeWinds board for 9 years; serving as president for the year 2011-2012.
She is also a current member of Pirates, Inc.
Helen Rutkowski is Director of Industries & Pre-Vocational Services at TradeWinds. She has served in many roles and has worked on many projects during her 33 year tenure, including TradeWinds’ ongoing CARF accreditation, agency activities and events with Lake Area United Way.
Helen earned a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and graduated from Leadership Northwest Indiana in 1994. She holds a Tutor Certification from Dyslexia Institute of Indiana and worked for years as a CARF Accreditation Surveyor in the US and Canada. She is currently Source America Products Advisory Council Rep. for North Central Region (7 state region), Indiana State Use Committee Co-Chair, Indiana Northern Work Centers Member and Leadership Northwest Indiana Alumni Council LNI-7 Class Rep. She is also a current member of Pirates, Inc.
Lisa Previs is Director of Programs for TradeWinds and has worked in a variety of roles for 27 years, including a Developmental Therapy Provider for 18 years and Director of TradeWinds’ Child Care for 15 years.
She is a licensed K-12 teacher who specialized in Special Education while earning a BS in Education at Purdue University. Lisa has worked on many projects including TradeWinds’ ongoing CARF accreditation, agency activities and events with Lake Area United Way. She is also a current member of Pirates, Inc.
Vernita Johnson-Macklin is Director of Human Resources, Admissions, File Room, Employment Services and the administrative reception area. She has been with TradeWinds for 15 years and has served in many roles. Starting as a Trainer, Vernita advanced to Admissions Coordinator, then Admissions and Quality Assurance Manager before taking on her current role.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Calumet College of St. Joseph in Human Services and a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. Vernita has worked on many projects including TradeWinds’ ongoing CARF accreditation, agency activities and events with Lake Area United Way. She is also a current member of Pirates, Inc.
Jamie Peyton is Accounting/QA Director and General Manager of the Sign Shop. She began her career at TradeWinds in August 1999. She started as a Staff Accountant and transitioned into a managerial role while earning her MBA from IU Northwest and gaining experience in the industry.
Jamie currently supervises the Accounting Department, coordinates the Quality Assurance Program, acts as the internal IT Coordinator and is the General Manager of TradeWinds’ Sign Shop. She has worked on projects such as TradeWinds’ ongoing CARF accreditation, participated in agency activities and events with the Lake Area United Way. She is also a current member of Pirates, Inc.
