Children

By bringing together children of ALL abilities, TradeWinds’ Children’s Programs promote inclusion, celebrate differences, and encourage teamwork with the goal of creating compassionate and community-minded individuals.

  • Early Head Start (birth – 3 years of age)

Adult

ADAPT participants enjoy outings and field trips which enhance their daily experiences. Other program participants take pride in developing pre-vocational skills in various work areas at TradeWinds before advancing to part- or full-time community employment with the assistance of our Work Solutions program.

Our skilled team of employment specialists provides job placement for adults with disabilities by focusing on the positive contribution they will make to your organization.

Residential

Allows adults with special needs to have a 24/7 residential living experience with the full-time supervision of trained TradeWinds staff. There are six homes spread throughout Crown Point, Schererville, St. John and Hobart.

  • Six Group Homes in Crown Point (3), Hobart and St. John (2)
  • Supported Living residences in Crown Point, Griffith, Lake Station and Merrillville
  • Supported Living services in the community

Deaf Services

A TradeWinds partner since 2014. Ensures accessibility to services for individuals who are hearing impaired throughout Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Jasper, Newton and Starke counties.

The Chicago Lighthouse

A TradeWinds partner since 2015. For over 100 years, The Lighthouse has been a national trendsetter in offering far-reaching programs that have opened the doors of opportunity for people who are blind or visually impaired.
