GROUP HOME MANAGER
This full-time position is flexible hours that include nights, weekends and holidays. The House Manager is responsible for assisting the QIDP in client healthcare/nutrition and household management for group home of adults with intellectual disabilities.
Responsibilities include client finances, recreation, program services, family involvement, education/vocational programs, and staffing. Must have complete knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, communicate, and enforce them to staff. Must be able to train, coach, assign duties, meet goals and department expectations and encourage others. Key to this position is time management, exceptional oral, written and organizational skills. House Manager must also provide 16 hours per week of direct service and have a cell phone.
Prefer college degree or coursework in related fields in Human Services, Psychology, or Social Work. The right person will have compassion and one-year plus experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities, preferred.

TradeWinds Service, Inc, located in Merrillville, IN has a full-time position for a Childcare Teacher Assistant. Must be available Monday-Friday; 6:30 am- 6:00 pm (hours will vary)
The Assistant Teacher is responsible for providing a developmentally appropriate early childhood education program that will foster language, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. The teacher will assist the Lead teacher in implementing creative curriculum, developmental screenings, daily child observations, completing daily classroom health and safety checks, diapering, potty training, feeding, organization of the classroom, participating in ongoing professional development, and staying up-to-date on the current required training (online and face to face), and participate in coaching. Training may occur during the day, after hours, or on Saturdays.Responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher with the full implementation and compliance of Paths to Quality, Indiana Early Childcare Licensing Regulations, and TradeWinds Services Policies and Procedures. Observe each child daily to assess skills on TS Gold. Establish a positive relationship with each child’s family and share information about the child’s day at the Center.
Education Requirements: Minimum CDA, will consider applicants enrolled in a CDA program or higher educational program, Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education; Experience preferred. Must be able to pass drug screens and background checks.

Janitor

TradeWinds Services, located in Merrillville, has a part-time position available for a janitor.
Will be responsible for cleaning all assigned departments in TradeWinds; clean spills, remove trash, ensure that bathrooms and other areas are properly cleaned and stocked; work as a team to accomplish the janitorial task; follow all the policies and procedures of TradeWinds and other duties as assigned.

Part-Time ADAPT Trainer

Description of Position – Feeding, toileting, group facilitation, some lifting, and positioning. Responsible for individual activities. Provide a wide range of activities, which could include such things as gross and fine motor skill activities, games, art/craft activities, mobility, exercise, nutrition, and recreation, and leisure activities. The trainer position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Documentation – Daily or monthly as required by the state regarding feeding and activity schedules, medications, billing, etc. Incident reports.

Description of Position: Responsible to train participants based on their individual pre-vocational goals as identified in their Individual Service Plans. In addition, provide training to enable the person served to maximize their performance on a variety of production jobs. Job accommodations and daily written documentation are required regarding participants’ progress and related service issues. Participation in consumer person-centered planning meetings is required.
Education Requirements: Minimum High school diploma or GED; post-secondary/training preferred.
Experience Required: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in education and/or teacher’s aide experience. Shipping experience preferred. Must be able to multi-task as well as effectively communicate both orally and written. Must be able to objectively and calmly handle crisis situations.
