Department: Supported Living

Hours: Full Time

Description of Position: The QIDP is responsible for the monitoring, integration, implementation, and coordination of services consisting of a comprehensive functional assessment of the program services.  Ultimately, the QIDP is responsible for ensuring the provisions of a consistent and aggressive active treatment program for the consumers. The QIDP also supervises the Direct Support Professionals and works cooperatively with the residential center nurse.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in human services or related academic disciplines (e.g., psychology, sociology, education and human development).

Experience Required:  Prior experience in developing and implementing individual programs, program evaluations, and working in a team environment.  Must have good decision-making and time management skills and be responsible, mature, and flexible.

Residential Nurse (RN/LPN)

Department: Residential Group Homes

Hours: Full Time

Description of Position:  The Residential Nurse is responsible for the overall medical management of all adult participants residing in TradeWinds Services group homes.  He/she is responsible for developing and enforcing health policies, risk plan, and procedures to ensure compliance; provide ongoing education/training/CORE A & B to staff; maintain and order medical supplies; performs health assessments on participants; weekly group home site checks; follow all physician orders, accurate documentation, report medical errors,  protect individuals’ rights, including protection against abuse, neglect or exploitation; have 24/7 availability either by written report, participation in medical care plans:  Nurse to make the appropriate assessments and communicate to the clients’ physician; participate for development, review, and update of a client’s health status.

Documentation: Medical Administration and Record-Keeping: administers medication to adult participants and records on medication form.  Write and follow up incident reports as needed and required.

Education Requirements:     Must be a licensed Registered Nurse or licensed Practical Nurse.

Experience:  Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred. 1-2 years nursing experience required.

Childcare Teacher – 2 Year Olds

Department: Children Services

Hours: Full Time - Must be available Monday-Friday; 6:30 am- 6:00 pm (hours will vary)

Description of Position: The Lead Teacher and the Assistant Teacher are responsible for the care and education of a group of children as part of a teaching team.  They are responsible for supervising and caring for children ages birth to 6 years of age that are enrolled in the Childcare program.  They are responsible to plan and implement the curriculum in accordance with TradeWinds Services and their partnership program, Geminus Head Start.  This position requires active participation with the children, families, other members of the teaching team, as well as various Head Start staff, to assess and address the needs of individual children.

Education Requirements: Associate’s /Bachelor’s Early Childhood or Elementary Education; Must meet childcare licensing requirements; Must be at least 21 years of age (depending on childcare room)

Experience:    Must have at least three (3) months experience with children in a classroom setting

Additional Requirements:  Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen

Maintenance Assistant

Department: Building & Grounds

Hours: Part-Time - Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm. Some evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Description of PositionResponsible for the appearance, safety, and maintenance of the main center and residential sites owned by TradeWinds. Plan & perform maintenance for all sites owned/operated by TradeWinds Services Inc.

Education Requirements: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of building trades, must have a valid driver’s license

Experience Required: Experience in industrial and institutional maintenance repairs, experience with building trades, and ability to use power tools/maintenance equipment.

Childcare (Special Education) Teacher – 3-5 year olds

Department: Children Services

Hours: Full-Time - Must be available Monday thru Friday, 6:30 am - 6:00 pm

Description of Position: Classroom management of normal developing and special needs children, supervise field trips, lesson planning and actively participate in daily learning and enrichment activities.  Feeding, diapering, and potty as well as following through on therapy recommendations necessary within the classroom setting.  The individual must possess creativity, enthusiasm and strong leadership qualities best suited to craft an optimal learning environment.  Must be able to complete documentation as required by state regulations and governing bodies.  Attend meetings with parents and/or department staff.  Review the work of aides and function independently in order to accomplish assignments, able to maintain confidentiality.

Education Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age.  Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education or elementary education.

Experience Required: Must have 6 months to one year experience in working with children (typically developing and children with special needs) in a childcare setting.  Must have good organizational skills.  Must have the ability to work with infants and young children as well as respond properly to emergencies.  Key to this position well is a positive attitude, team player spirit and lots of energy with the ability and willingness to participate in outdoor/physical activities.

Childcare Classroom Floater

Department: Children Services

Description of Position: The Floater is to assist and cooperate in a supportive role working in various classrooms.  Promote health, safety, nutrition and appropriate developmental activities of the children in the classroom. All teachers will work with children with and without special needs.

Additional Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting the teachers with the full implementation of Head Start, Paths to Quality, Indiana Early Childcare Licencing Regulations,  TradeWinds Services Policies and Procedures. Maintain an open, friendly, professional relationship with all staff and families, to include respect for culture, diversity, and ethnicity. Works according to a schedule determined with input from all teaching staff and the Childcare Coordinator in all classrooms. Performs required caregiving activities for child/children, i.e. feeding, toileting, dressing, etc. Utilizes positive discipline. Attends meetings, training, and professional development activities. Feeding, diapering, and potty training as needed.

Education Requirements: Minimum CDA; experience working with children with special needs in a group setting preferred. Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and Creative Curriculum preferred.

Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Description of Position: Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) work directly and indirectly under the supervision of Speech-Language Pathologists. Work in the local school system and/or in-house setting here at Tradewinds. The job will require local travel to various schools within the community. Must be available for the school hour day from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Education Requirements:  Associate’s degree in an SLPA program or Bachelor’s degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program.

Experience Required: Successful completion of a minimum of one hundred (100) hours of supervised fieldwork experience or its clinical experience equivalent.

Childcare Teacher/Assistant/Sub

Description of Position: The Assistant Teacher is responsible for providing for the care, safety, and well-being of the children assigned to the classroom; supporting early learning experiences while using Creative Curriculum in the classroom. Responsible for implementing and following Childcare Licensing regulations, Head Start Performance Standards, Paths to Quality/NAEYC criteria, TradeWinds policies, procedures and guidelines in the day-to-day operation of the classroom.

The Assistant Teacher assists in preparing the classroom materials and plans providing quality learning experiences for young children with and without special needs.  Assist in maintaining records on each child’s progress and development for the purpose of planning and utilization of Teaching Strategies Gold. Utilizes positive discipline to guide the child’s behavior in positive ways that support total growth and development, and promote self-esteem; Must work collaboratively and maintain an open, friendly, and professional relationship with the teachers, family members, and other staff to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities.

Qualities the candidate must have:

 Additional Responsibilities:  Assistant teacher must obtain at least 20 hours of professional development a year, including attending meetings and training, and maintaining the appropriate competencies and abilities as required by the position; training may occur in the evenings or on weekends, or online.

Education Requirements: Minimum CDA, Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education; Experience working with children with special needs preferred.

Sewing Machine Operators

Department: Industries - Sewing Department

Hours: Full-Time - Monday thru Friday (hours may vary)

Description of Position: Sew disposable coveralls, cloth smocks, tunics, and women’s slacks. Industrial sewing machine used including single needle, double-needle, lockstitch, blind stitch. Required to maintain high quality while increasing production level to 80% minimum of the standard rate.

Education Requirements: High school diploma preferred but not required.

Experience Required: Technical sewing skills required.  Experience of 1-2 years industrial sewing preferred. Skill level will be tested at interview.
