Group Home Manager

Department: Residential Group Home

Hours: Full-time; flexible hours including: nights, weekends and holidays.

Description of Position: The House Manager is responsible for assisting the QIDP in client healthcare/nutrition and household management.  Including client finances, recreation, program services, family involvement, education/vocational programs, and staffing. Have complete knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and communicate and enforce them to staff. Must be able to train, coach, assign duties, goals and department expectations and encourage others. Key to this position is time management, exceptional oral, written and organizational skills. House Manager must also provide 16 hrs./week of direct service and have a cell phone.

Education Requirements: Preferably a college degree or course work in related field, i.e., Human Services, Psychology, or Social Work.

Experience Required:  The right person will have compassion and one-year plus experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities preferred.

Speech Language Pathology Assistant

Department: Children Services

Hours: Part or Full-time

Description of Position: Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) work directly and indirectly under the supervision of Speech Language Pathologists. Work in the local school system and/or in-house setting here at TradeWinds. The job will require local travel to various schools within the community. Must be available for the school hour day from 8:00am – 3:30pm.

Education Requirements:     Associate’s degree in an SLPA program or Bachelor’s degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program.

 Experience Required:  Successful completion of a minimum of one hundred (100) hours of supervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent.

Childcare Lead Teacher

Department: Children Services

Hours: Full-Time - Must be available Monday-Friday; 6:30 am- 6:00 pm (hours will vary)

Description of Position: The Lead Teacher and the Assistant Teacher are responsible for the care and education of a group of children as part of a teaching team.  They are responsible for supervising and caring for infants and toddlers that are enrolled in the Childcare program.  They are responsible to plan and implement the curriculum in accordance with TradeWinds Services and their partnership program, Early Head Start.  This position requires active participation with the children, families, other members of the teaching team, as well as various Early Head Start staff, to asses and address the needs of individual children.

Education Requirements: Must meet child care licensing requirements; Must be at least 21 years of age (depending on childcare room) CDA preferred

Experience:    Must have at least three (3) months experience with children in a classroom setting

Industries Case Manager

Description of Position: Responsible for coordinating agency services that enable an individual with intellectual disabilities to receive a full range of appropriate services in a planned, coordinated, efficient and effective manner to promote the well-being of the individual. Responsible for making recommendations for needed medical, social, educational, and informal community supports needed by eligible person within the day Services Program at TradeWinds. Responsible for oversight of funding resources to assure they are adequate for planned services proved by TradeWinds. Completion of weekly, monthly and annual paperwork to ensure TradeWinds remains in compliance.

Education/Certification RequirementsBachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience Required:  Must have one year of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities. Prior experience in developing and implementing individual programs, program evaluation, and in working with a team is desired.

The Assistant Teacher is responsible for providing a developmentally appropriate early childhood education program that will foster language, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. The teacher will assist the Lead teacher in implementing creative curriculum, developmental screenings, daily child observations, completing daily classroom health and safety checks, diapering, potty training, feeding, organization of the classroom, participating in ongoing professional development, and staying up-to-date on the current required training (online and face to face), and participate in coaching. Training may occur during the day, after hours, or on Saturdays.

Responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher with the full implementation and compliance of Paths to Quality, Indiana Early Childcare Licensing Regulations, and TradeWinds Services Policies and Procedures. Observe each child daily to assess skills on TS Gold. Establish a positive relationship with each child’s family and share information about the child’s day at the Center.

Education Requirements: Minimum CDA, will consider applicants enrolled in a CDA program or higher educational program, Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education; Experience preferred. Must be able to pass drug screenings and background checks.

ADAPT Substitute Pre-Vocational Production Trainer

Our Respite Care staff takes individuals with special needs on outings to community-based activities, shopping, bowling, theaters, etc. Respite care can also be provided in-home or at a TradeWinds Respite Apartment.

Substitute Lunch Monitor

Department: Industries

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Description of Position: Supervise the adult participants in the lunchroom/break area during scheduled morning breaks, lunch periods and afternoon breaks. Monitors adult participants’ behaviors by circulating and interacting with participants during lunch and break periods; encouraging participants to move about the room in an orderly fashion. Reports all adult participant injuries, accidents, illnesses, and behavior problems to the appropriate authority immediately, and as soon as reasonably possible completes written documentation of any of these occurrences.
